Stundars Open Air Museum is open every day during the summer season 24.6–15.8, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
During the summer season, we have guided tours every day at various fixed times. There will be tours with different themes in the museum village, as well as special tours for children and tours around the animal park a few times each week. If the weather allows, there will be a chance to try your hand at washing clothes the old-fashioned way, or to do some baking at the Smith’s Cottage. In the animal park you will meet our various farm animals, and you can learn how they are tended.
In the authentic atmosphere of Stundars, children can imagine they are part of old-fashioned country life. In the Play Barn, our wooden animals need to be fed and cared for by small farmhands. In the Children´s Country Shop, young visitors can have fun weighing, measuring, buying, and selling goods. In the Carpenter´s Workshop there are real tools and children can have a go at hammering and sawing. Various arts and crafts events take place in the museum village during the summer season.
During the summer season there will also be a Playing Day on July 4th, for children and playful adults alike. On Saturday August 3rd we celebrate Artisans’ Day, when the museum village is filled with craftspeople demonstrating their skills.
There are also three art exhibits to visit: Artist Fritz Jakobsson in the Hemmer House, visual artist Paula Blåfield in the Animal Barn, as well as embroiderer Pernilla Vikström in the Stonemason’s Cottage.
The admission fees are 8€ for adults, 5€ for students and pensioners, and 3€ for children. Stundars is a Finnish Museum Card target.
