Museum Thursdays continue in the spring

After an eventful Christmas season, with a huge market and children’s activities, we will at first take it easy and prepare for the upcoming summer season. Museum Thursdays will begin again soon, with free guided tours and other activities at the museum, as advertised. During spring there will be guided tours concerning agrarian life, building traditions, authorities, literature, as well as the initial steps of the Finnish welfare state. You can soon find a more detailed program in our calendar, and on our Facebook-page and Instagram account. There is also the possibility of booking a personal guided tour or some other activity in the museum village.

The first Museum Thursday of the spring will be arranged on Thursday 18th of January. We will offer a free guided tour about the turn of the century, at 13 o’clock in Swedish, at 14 o’clock in Finnish, and 15 o’clock in English. After that we arrange themed program on the following Thursdays until the Winter-leave:

25.1 Among kings, presidents, and elders

1.2 Finnish building traditions

8.2 Welcome to the poet Jarl Hemmer’s childhood home

15.2 A dating-guide to the 19th century

22.2 Guided tour about the turn of the century

Winter-leave 26.2–1.3

Information about the following Museum Thursdays will be available later.
