The Museum Thursdays of Autumn

The summer season at Stundars has reached its end for this year. After an eventful summer, we will at first take it easy and focus on dismantling the temporary exhibits in the museum village for winter storage. Museum Thursdays will begin again soon, with free guided tours and other activities at the museum, as advertised. You can find a more detailed program in our calendar, and on our Facebook-page and Instagram account. There is also the possibility of booking a personal guided tour or some other activity in the museum village.

On the first Museum Thursday of this autumn, we will offer a free guided tour, on 12th of September in Swedish at 1 PM, in Finnish at 2 PM, and in English at 3 PM. The tour offers a glimpse into daily life during autumn in the old agrarian society, before the arrival of industry and clocks. After a summer rich in food, sunlight and warmth, the weather gets colder and darker very soon. Because of this, people would fill their time with preparations for the long and frightening winter. It was important to finish all tasks and get the food storage filled.
