The Summer Season 2026 begins!

Stundars Open Air Museum is open every day during the summer season 22.6–15.8, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.

During the summer season, we have guided tours every day at various fixed times. There will be tours with different themes in the museum village, as well as special tours for children and tours around the animal park a few times each week. If the weather allows, there will be a chance to try your hand at washing clothes the old-fashioned way, or to do some baking at the Smith’s Cottage.

In the authentic atmosphere of Stundars, children can imagine they are part of old-fashioned country life. In the Play Barn, our wooden animals need to be fed and cared for by small farmhands. In the Children´s Country Shop, young visitors can have fun weighing, measuring, buying, and selling goods. In the Carpenter´s Workshop there are real tools and children can have a go at hammering and sawing. Various arts and crafts events take place in the museum village during the summer season.

During the summer season there will also be a Playing Day on July 2nd, for children and playful adults alike.  On Saturday July 18th we celebrate Artisans’ Day, when the museum village is filled with craftspeople demonstrating their skills. On Wednesday 29th, we have a smaller Artisans’ Evening.

There are also three art exhibits to visit: At the second floor of Hemmer´s House Heidi von Wright, and Kyösti Linna together with Domenico Melillo will have exhibits, while Riikka Helminen has an exhibit in the Stonemason’s Cottage. In the Animal Barn you can visit the exhibit “With Paint & Bricks”, which is about interior folk painting and traditional fireplaces in Ostrobothnia and Västerbotten, Sweden. The exhibit “Decorated” will continue in the Farm House during the summer of 2026.

The admission fees are 10€ for adults, 8€ for students and pensioners, and 5€ for children. Stundars is a Finnish Museum Card target.
