Stundars museum is searching for art exhibitions for summer 2026. Anyone can apply, both individual artists and groups. Stundars has about 5000 visitors every summer. The art exhibitions will be open to public daily 11 am – 4pm during museums summer season 22.6-15.8.2026. Read more about our exhibition spaces and send your application by 10.11.2024 at the latest.
Exhibition spaces:
Hemmer´s House, second floor
Hemmer´s house including the second floor is used for parties and other events. This space works best for paintings and other works that you can hang on the wall. There is about 26 meters of wall space for hanging art, walls´ height is 180 cm. The space is warm and has spotlights and electricity. This space is suitable to share with other artist.
Stonecutter´s Cottage
Works best for paintings and other works that you can hang on the wall. There is about 6,5 meters of wall space. The ceiling height is 215 cm of which the timber wall is 140cm. There´s no lights or electricity.
The exhibition space in the animal barn will be used for an exhibition about traditional building in Ostrobothnia.
No rent is charged for the exhibition spaces. The art exhibitions will be part of Stundars museums summer program 2026. The museum will advertise them and we hope that also the artists do that. We hope that the artists will able to participate the vernissage of exhibitions (in week 26). Stundars has the rights to use the exhibion spaces for museums activities if necessary and in these cases we will negotiate with the artists.
How to apply:
Send an open application and portfolio (both in pdf form, max 5Mb) before midnight November 9th 2025 to liselott.nystrom.forsen@stundars.fi.
- In application tell about your art and work. What kind of artworks they are, how many and which size. Add some pictures.
- Tell if you want to exhibit your art in certain exhibition space.
- Tell if you want to have the exhibition space only for you or if you´re interested in to sharing it with other artist.
- You can write the applications in Finnish, Swedish or English.
These qualities of the artist or the exhibition are seen as an advantage:
- The artist has an artistic education and/or is an established artist.
- The artist is relatively young.
- The exhibition has some connection to history, handicraft and/or the Ostrobothnian region in Finland.
The application period is 13.10.-9.11.2025. The exhibitions are selected by the art committee at Stundars museum in November 2025.
